Each year, APHA selects a local organization to donate to leading up to the meeting. The APHA 2022 host city charity is The Home for Little Wanderers. The Home for Little Wanderers works to ensure the emotional, social, educational and physical well-being of more than 15,000 children and families each year. Will COVID-19 vaccinations be required to attend the 2022 Annual Meeting and Expo? Will masks be required?

APHA is requiring all in-person attendees to be up to date with their COVID-19 vaccination against the SARS-Cov-2 virus as defined by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.

Up to date is defined as a completed full primary series (two shots of the Pfizer and Moderna COVID vaccine or one shot of the Johnson and Johnson product; or a comparably approved vaccine if you are an international attendee) plus at least one booster.

You will be required to show proof of vaccination during event check-in. By registering for the event, you agree to be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus by October 20, 2022.

Masking at APHA 2022

To ensure a safe and comfortable meeting for all attendees, APHA events follow masking guidance as issued by state and local public health authorities. For APHA 2022, we will be following guidance from the Boston Public Health Commission.

As of July 20, 2022, the commission “strongly recommends wearing a mask while indoors, including when using public transportation, in government buildings and in crowded indoor venues. Masking is especially important for those who are at higher risk for severe illness, such as people who are not fully vaccinated, seniors and those who are immunocompromised.”

For the latest recommendations from the commission, visit the agency’s COVID-19 response page. More details on masking requirements at APHA’s 2022 Annual Meeting and Expo will be shared by the Association prior to the event.
