Centers and Programs
One way we’re building the healthiest nation in one generation: strengthening the public health profession. Our centers and programs work together to offer educational opportunities, develop informative resources and build diverse partnerships to advance the field of public health.
Our Centers and Programs
The Center for Public Health Practice and Professional Development is a department within the Health Policy and Practice Division of APHA. It is committed to promoting the well-being and education of local, state, national and global residents of the world.
The Alliance for the Public's Health is a multi-sector coalition of networks working to advance public health and equity through strategic communications, advocacy and partnerships. Get involved with the Alliance through our monthly meetings and email updates.
APHA's Get Ready campaign helps Americans prepare themselves, their families and their communities for all disasters and hazards, including pandemic flu, infectious disease, natural disasters and other emergencies.
For Our Health has been established to serve as a unified voice defending evidence-based health initiatives and safeguarding critical public health protections.
Our Center for Public Health Policy draws on the latest science and evidence to develop educational materials that promote health equity and address the social determinants of health. Our Center for Climate, Health and Equity leads public health efforts to inspire action on climate and health, advance policy and galvanize the field to address climate change.
Through National Public Health Week we celebrate the field of public health’s achievements and engage our partners in highlighting how we must work together to improve the health of our communities.
We also offer a variety of professional development and continuing education opportunities. Through webinars, trainings and other methods, we enhance the knowledge and skills of public health professionals and those interested in public health.
