Awards Committee: Solicits nominations and select the winners for the Section’s awards. This committee plans and prepares the agenda for the Section award program and reception.

Communications Committee: Maintains an up-to-date communications plan for the Section, assures maintenance of the Section’s website and oversees social media activities.

Legislation & Policy Committee: Leads the Section in developing APHA’s position and response to legislation and public policy on food- and nutrition-related issues.

Membership Committee: Enhances Section membership through strategies to recruit new members and ensure membership renewal.

Mentoring Committee: Facilitates intra-section connection and develops resources to support members' professional development.

Networking Social Committee: Works with immediate past Chair to plan annual meeting social event activities.

Nominations Committee: Prepares a slate of nominees for annual Section elections.

Program Committee: Plans and presents high-quality scientific programs of interest to the Section members at the Annual Meeting as a means of informing them of current and cutting-edge issues and research related to public health nutrition and physical activity.

Strategic Plan Committee: Develops and maintains the Section’s five-year strategic plan to provide continuity of short- and long-range planning to maximize its contribution to public health nutrition. Reviews missions and goals biannually.

Webinar Committee: Develops webinar sessions on the latest topics of interest to the FN Section Members.

Food & Environment Working Group  a joint initiative of the APHA Food and Nutrition Section and the Environment Section. FEWG works at the intersection of food, nutrition and the environment to protect public health by cultivating and promoting a healthy, just and sustainable food system. Some of our work at APHA includes coordinating an annual pre-meeting food systems tour, promoting a healthy food environment at the meeting, supporting policies developed by the Food & Nutrition and Environment Sections, and fostering a dynamic network of interdisciplinary public health practitioners with an interest in food systems issues.
