At APHA, building meaningful partnerships toward better health is a top priority. Today, we actively partner with a wide variety of groups and organizations, from fellow public health advocates to private-sector retailers to state and local government agencies. But when it comes to ensuring a resilient public health workforce for decades to come, there is no more important partnership than the one we forge with public health students and young professionals.

That’s what the APHA Annual Meeting Student Scholarship Fund is all about. The scholarship fund enables public health students to attend the APHA Annual Meeting, the world’s largest gathering of public health professionals. All students attending a U.S. college or university are eligible to apply for the scholarships, which help cover meeting registration and travel expenses. And thanks to the contributions of APHA leaders, your donation will be generously matched up to $10,000. That means a $10 donation becomes $20, a $50 donation becomes $100, and a $100 donation becomes $200.

Since 2012, with your generosity and support, we have raised more than $200,000 in support of the Annual Meeting Student Scholarship Fund and have awarded nearly 400 student scholarships. These scholarships offer students a chance to learn the latest public health science and practice, connect with seasoned professionals, meet new mentors and, hopefully, find a lifelong home within the APHA community.
