ICTHP Impact Award

Outstanding research, education, and/or advocacy in the field of ICTHP (eg-publication of high impact research, demonstrated record of achievement in spearheading ICTHP initiatives, etc.)

Commitment to attend the annual APHA Meeting and Exposition and the ICTHP Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony. (Note: The Section has limited funds to assist in covering Awardees’ costs associated with APHA meeting attendance. Awardee must be prepared to assume expenses associated with meeting attendance.)

 

Emerging ICTHP Leadership Award

Demonstrated commitment to research, education, and/or advocacy in the field of ICTHP (demonstrated record of achievement in spearheading ICTHP initiatives)

Awardee must be an early-mid career professional working at the intersection of ICTHP and public health (up to 10 years of professional work in ICTHP.

Commitment to attend the annual APHA Meeting and Exposition and the ICTHP Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony. (Note: The Section has limited funds to assist in covering Awardees’ costs associated with APHA meeting attendance. Awardee must be prepared to assume expenses associated with meeting attendance.)

 

ICTHP Fellowship Award

  • Learn more about the field of ICTHP, APHA, and the ICTHP Section
  • Meet key leaders in the ICTHP field and build a professional network of ICTHP colleagues
  • Become actively engaged in the activities of the ICTHP Section
  • Contribute to the field of ICTHP and the work of the ICTHP Section

The ICTHP Fellowship Award provides a stipend totaling $2400 annually (to be paid in quarterly installments of $600). Fellows must continue to meet all fellowship requirements to receive the full award amount.

 

ICTHP fellowship description and responsibilities:

The ICTHP Fellow will be matched with ICTHP Section Leaders according to their area(s) of interest, such as with the ICTHP Section Chair, Program Planning Chair, Policy Chair, Communications Chair, Student Liaison, Membership Chair, Governing or Section Counsellor, and other Committee Chairs, to the extent possible. The Fellow will be expected to commit 10 hrs/month for ICTHP-related activities. Fellows will report to the ICTHP chair.

The Fellow assists with various activities over the Fellowship year, such as researching and developing APHA policy statements or resolutions, coordinating webinars on key ICTHP topics, writing articles for the ICTHP Section Newsletter, reviewing abstracts for the annual meeting, helping to organize oral and poster sessions, or developing activities for National Public Health Week, etc.

The Fellow participates in monthly leadership conference calls that will begin after the annual meeting, as well as complete a specific project of interest during the Fellowship year.

 

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to attend the annual APHA Meeting and Exposition, as well as the ICTHP Business Meeting.
  • Commitment to ICTHP including research, education, or advocacy
  • Demonstrated interested in being part of ICTHP section
