Affiliate representation at APHA
Affiliate leaders are encouraged to get involved at a variety of levels at APHA!
Affiliate leadership is required on the following committees and groups:
- Council of Affiliates
- Governing Council (learn more about the role of the Affiliate Representative to the Governing Council)
- Action Board (two representatives, appointed by APHA’s Executive Board)
- Committee on Membership (three representatives, appointed by the Council of Affiliates)
- Committee on Social Responsibility (one representative, appointed by the Council of Affiliates)
- Caucus Collaborative (one representative, appointed by the Council of Affiliates)
Affiliate leadership is strongly urged on the following committees and groups:
- Nominations Committee (elected by the Governing Council)
- Science Board (appointed by APHA’s Executive Board)
- Editorial Board
- Education Board
APHA and the CoA encourage Affiliate leaders and their members to respond to calls for nominations to these leadership opportunities throughout the year. All Affiliate representatives on APHA boards and committees must be both a member of APHA and of their state public health association.
