Making the Public's Health a National Priority

Washington, D.C. | November 2-5, 2025

Research has shown that public health efforts to prevent disease are more cost effective - and humane - than treating chronic health conditions, so now is the time to invest in our nation’s health. Health is a human right; let’s make it a national priority.

Beware of Housing Scams

Housing for the 2025 APHA Annual Meeting and Expo opens June 3. Spargo, Inc. is the official housing vendor for the APHA Annual Meeting and does not solicit. Tech-savvy scammers create fake reservations and websites that look legitimate. If you book through these sites, you run the risk of arriving and not having a hotel room. Once housing is available for booking, make sure you are starting from an apha.org or jspargo.com web page when you begin your housing process. Never book from an email that does not come from an apha.org or spargoinc.com email address.

Abstract submissions are currently being peer reviewed and selected for presentation. Those who submitted an abstract will be notified regarding if they have been selected on June 3.

More Information

APHA 2025 will take place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center (801 Allen Y. Lew Place, NW) and the Marriott Marquis Washington, DC (901 Massachusetts Ave. NW). There will also be an opportunity to take part in the meeting digitally.

Making the Public's Health a National Priority

Life expectancies have been declining since before the COVID-19 pandemic exposed the need to prioritize public health. Research has shown that public health efforts to prevent disease are more cost effective - and humane - than treating chronic health conditions, so now is the time to invest in our nation’s health. We need to prepare for the next pandemic, improve data collection to track and analyze diseases, conduct research on effective prevention and treatment methods and enact policies that promote better health for all people in all communities. Health is a human right; let’s make it a national priority.
