Be an advocate for health!
Get involved! There are many options to make a difference on both a national level and right in your own community.
Act locally
- Reach out to your school board and local PTA. Ask for healthy school lunches, be a mentor or provide internship opportunities.
- Promote wellness at your workplace or house of worship. Start a walking group or a physical activity challenge. Sponsor free health screenings – like blood pressure checks – and open them up to the public.
- Get involved with non-profit groups that are working with local government to promote community health.
- Support initiatives that encourage walking and walkable communities.
Act nationally
