Registration for the 2016 Annual Meeting is now open
It’s hard to return from a long holiday weekend to the daily grind, no matter how much you love your work. But it’s not so bad when you realize that registration for APHA’s 2016 Annual Meeting & Expo is now open!
That’s right folks, registration and housing for this year’s Annual Meeting — also known as the largest public health conference and expo in the world — has officially opened for business. Early-bird discounts are now in effect through September, but the earlier you register, the more you save. In fact, early birds who register before Aug. 11 can save more than $100. And you’ll want those extra bucks to explore the sites, sounds and flavors of this year’s Annual Meeting host city — Denver!
With the majestic Rocky Mountains serving as this year’s backdrop, the Annual Meeting will welcome more than 12,000 public health practitioners, advocates, researchers and students from around the world to learn about and discuss the latest in practice and science. This year’s meeting theme is “Creating the Healthiest Nation: Ensuring the Right to Health” and it’s sure to inspire a wealth of discussion and debate on how we can become the healthiest nation in one generation. But, as always, the Annual Meeting, which runs Oct. 29-Nov. 2, will also offer scientific sessions on every public health topic imaginable, from the traditional to the just emerging. When we say there’s something for everyone, we mean it.
Beyond the scientific sessions, the Annual Meeting is practically overflowing with networking opportunities, social events and continuing education offerings. Plus, attendees get to hear from global and national public health leaders and newsmakers. Indeed, we just recently announced that this year’s Opening General Session keynote speaker is Cecile Richards, president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. Richards is most definitely on the frontlines of ensuring the right to health and her Annual Meeting address is shaping up to be a can’t-miss event.
