Amy Lee, MD, MPH, MBA, CPH

Amy Lee is the program director for the Consortium of Eastern Ohio Master of Public Health program, a partnership of The University of Akron, Cleveland State University, Northeast Ohio Medical University, and Youngstown State University. She is based at Northeast Ohio Medical University as professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. At Northeast Ohio Medical University, she teaches required courses in population health and quality improvement to first, second, and fourth-year medical students. She teaches general public health concepts, biology, cultural competency, and communications in the Master of Public Health program. She was president of the Ohio Public Health Association and Delta Omega, and chair of the Council of Graduate Programs in Public Health.

Lee is co-chair of the Core Competencies Workgroup for the Council on Linkages Between Academic and Public Health Practice, the current board president for Asian Services in Action, Inc. (a social services and Federally Qualified Health Center in northeast Ohio), and secretary for USA Dance, Ohio Chapter. In 2019-2020, she was American Public Health Association Education Board chair, Joint Policy Committee co-chair, and an ex officio member of the Executive Board; she is a member of the Public Health Education and Health Promotion and Medical Care Sections and is a Continuing Medical Education Reviewer. She has been on the Ohio Public Health Combined Conference planning committee, representing the Ohio Public Health Association, since 1999, mostly coordinating faculty and student oral and poster presentations. Dr. Lee has organized workshops on interprofessional education for faculty and has given workshops on diversity, quality improvement and other administrative topics for local health departments. Her academic background includes an MD from Northeast Ohio Medical University, MPH from The Ohio State University, and an MBA from The University of Akron. She has completed residency programs in obstetrics and gynecology and preventive medicine; she is board certified in public health and general preventive medicine. Additional certifications include Certification in Public Health, Certification in Medical Quality, and Certification in Six Sigma Green Belt.
