How do I place a book order?
The most direct way to purchase a book is through the online bookstore, www.aphabookstore.org.

How do I submit a purchase order?
Please email aphapress@apha.org and include the handling fee per order on the purchase order or it will be added to the account. Please include any documentation that you may require to complete the order. Purchase orders are not accepted via fax. Once received, you will receive a confirmation. APHA Press requires prepayment on all purchase orders, or you must complete the required credit check form.

My agency is tax exempt. What is the process?
If you are located outside of Washington, DC, there is no sales tax associated with your order. If your order is made in Washington, DC, you are responsible for the sales tax, at the current rate. If you are tax exempt, please provide your documentation to aphapress@apha.org when submitting your purchase order.

What are your shipping costs?
Bookstores, distributors and retailers are responsible for shipping fees. Please provide shipping account information. Fee is based on weight and location of the order. Customers can provide 3rd party shipping account numbers for UPS and FedEx.

How long will it take books to ship?
Inventoried items will take 1-2 business days to ship from the warehouse outside Chicago once the invoice has been approved. Print-on-demand titles will take 3-5 business days to print before they are shipped from Michigan. Please note: Orders consisting of both types of books will arrive separately.

How do I track my order?
Most books are print on demand. We will not receive the tracking until the book is printed and shipped. This takes 3-5 business days. Tracking is not automatically sent to the customer. If you would like to track an order, please wait 5 business days before emailing aphapress@apha.org.

How do I return a book?
Print-on-demand books are not returnable. Returns for inventoried books (Control of Communicable Disease Manual, Control of Communicable Diseases: Clinical Practice and Standard Methods for the Examination of Water & Wastewater) should include the original invoice or receipt and shipped to the below address. All returns will be given credit to future orders. Credit must be used within 1 year of the credit issued.

The APHA Press website will not process credit cards that are not shipped within the United State. Please email aphapress@apha.org for instructions. All international orders are subject to shipping charges and pre-payment.
