Rebecca Nevedale

Ex-officio Member, Council of Affiliates ChairRebecca Nevedale

Rebecca Nevedale is a “non-traditional” public health worker. The first part of her career was spent in nonprofit and trade association sectors. Here, Rebecca partnered with community members and pediatric healthcare providers to improve systems of care for children. She learned a great deal of the inner workings of primary care offices, at the same time working closely alongside families navigating complex systems to access care for their children. She led many advocacy and system change initiatives focused on a variety of areas including perinatal and infant oral health, early childhood development, childhood obesity and vaccines. Rebecca has been a critical influencer in re-designing the vaccine financing and delivery system in Arizona – an ongoing project has resulted in several legislative interventions.

Now, as a consultant at the FrameShift Group, Rebecca continues to work with groups of passionate individuals mobilizing system change in Arizona and nationwide. She has developed a reputation for being a dynamic professional who meaningfully connects with colleagues and community members with ease. She is trained in and experienced with using a menu of improvement and facilitation platforms. These include Emergent Learning, Lean/Six Sigma, Prosci ™ Change Management and the Model for Improvement, all of which focus on guiding groups to achieve data-driven, measurable change. Rebecca applies improvement science ‘behind the scenes,’ providing a structured approach to facilitated learning for the partners. Whether coaching one-on-one or facilitating large group meetings, Rebecca keeps focus on the work at hand, not the tools. And she ensures that everyone is having FUN while dissecting messy problems. Her current projects allow her to learn from experts working in the realms of pandemic response, immunization delivery, oral health integration, expansion and diversification of the workforce, and chronic absenteeism.

Rebecca has graduated from several leadership programs including the National Leadership Academy for the Public’s Health initiated by the Public Health Institute and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the American Express Leadership Academy at the ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation. She has also served on many task forces and Boards over the years, including the Steering Committee for Arizona’s State Health Improvement Plan.

Her most valuable experiences as a professional and advocate have been working with her colleagues and friends at the Arizona Public Health Association (AzPHA). She has served on a plethora of committees and planning groups at AzPHA, and on the Board of Directors as Public Representative, Legislative Committee Chair and Affiliate Representative to the Governing Council (ARGC). In recent years, Rebecca has become active at the national level connecting with other affiliates through APHA’s Council of Affiliates. Here, she has developed even more friendships and stolen all of their great ideas so that her affiliate can expand their capacity and improve the impact they make. She is humbled and proud to have been elected Chair of the APHA Council of Affiliates so that she can help support other advocates nationwide.
