Section program chairs compose, ex officio, most of this group's membership. Program chairs create a call for abstracts, establishes a review committee and develop the scientific program for the Annual Meeting. Four members-at-large are appointed each year to add expertise specific to that year's theme. An Affiliate representative who resides in the state hosting that year's Annual Meeting is also appointed. The at-large members and Affiliate representative meet via conference call throughout the year on an as needed basis to solidify the APHA special sessions. The committee meets every year at the end of the Annual Meeting and is reimbursed for one night lodging and meal expenses.
