This activity is designed to provide public health and health practitioners with strategies and resources to advance violence prevention in their practice and community.

Objectives of the Activity:

to increase practitioners’ 1) knowledge of violence prevention strategies; and 2) ability to apply violence prevention strategies.

Target Audience:

physicians, nurses, health educators, public health professionals, federal, state, county, and local health agency officials and staff, health care providers, school health personnel and teachers, personnel and faculty from academia, administration and research.

Conflict of Interest:

None of the planners, faculty, authors or moderators has a conflict to disclose as it relates to this educational activity.

APHA designates this enduring materials educational activity for a maximum of 3 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit (s)™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing (CNE)

The APHA Public Health Nursing section (APHA/PHN) is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Health Education (CHES)

APHA is accredited by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. to sponsor continuing education for Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES).

APHA designates this enduring materials educational event for the CHES to receive up to 3 Category I CE contact hours (CHEC).

Public Health (CPH) Statement

APHA is accredited as a provider of Certified Public Health Continuing Education by the National Board of Public Health Examiners.
