Healthy People 2030 Development

Webinar //

Date:

Jun 22 2017, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM EST

Description

This webinar hosted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion will highlight the progress of Healthy People 2020 and the development of Healthy People 2030. HHS officials will be joined by members of the Secretary’s Advisory Committee on National Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Objectives for 2030 to discuss the current activities of the Healthy People initiative. APHA Executive Director Georges Benjamin, MD, will also describe how APHA has supported and been involved in Healthy People over the last 10 years.

Every decade, the Healthy People initiative develops a new set of science-based, 10-year national objectives for improving the health of all Americans. For three decades, Healthy People has established benchmarks and monitored progress over time to encourage collaborations across communities and sectors, empower individuals toward making informed health decisions, and measure the impact of prevention activities.

Webinar attendees will be able to understand how to use Healthy People 2020 to promote public health, be able to recognize the progress the nation has made in achieving Healthy People goals at the middle of the decade, and understand the development of Healthy People 2030 Framework.
