Section awards nominations
Each year, the International Health Section recognizes the outstanding contributions of its members through its Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in International Health, its Mid-Career Award in International Health, the Gordon-Wyon Award for Community-Oriented Public Health, Epidemiology and Practice, its Young Professional Award and the Distinguished Section Service Award. The Section opens calls for nominations in the spring (usually from March to May) for deserving candidates in each award category. The awards are presented during the Section’s awards ceremony at the APHA Annual Meeting and Exposition. Please see our Awards page for more information and for details on how to nominate Section members (self-nominations are not accepted). Nominations should be submitted by email to Awards Committee Chair Henry Perry.
APHA Annual Meeting abstracts
The abstract submission period for the APHA Annual Meeting opens each year in January and closes at the end of February. Depending on the program, it may be possible for the Section to host invited sessions after the abstract submission period has closed. Please contact Program Committee Chairs Julia Robinson, Lanice Williams and Sana Malik for more information.
