Description
Veterans, highly valued in the American workforce, contribute unique skills and experiences to various industries. There is a growing focus on their role in addressing crucial public health and environmental issues nationwide. This underscores the importance of better understanding Veterans' experiences during their transition from military to civilian life and identifying the necessary support for their success in the broader civilian workforce, particularly in public and environmental health sectors.
During this session hosted by the Colorado Public Health Association, participants will learn more about the findings from the collaborative work completed by the Trailhead Institute, Amaka Consulting and Evaluation Services, Black Ladies in Public health and Informing Veterans and Dependents on better understanding the needs of veterans transitioning to civilian life and the capabilities and value that Veterans can bring to the public health workforce.
