Description
As school buildings reopen after weeks of pandemic-induced closures, school climate will matter more than ever. The articles in NASBE’s newest issue of The State Education Standard provide a roadmap for state policymakers and education leaders working to create safe, supportive learning environments ready for the return of students and teachers to classrooms.
Join us as Standard authors Jennifer DePaoli, Learning Policy Institute; Randy Ross, National School Climate Center; and David Osher, American Institutes for Research, discuss school climate in the context of coronavirus recovery. They will explore how policy leaders can help address academic, social, emotional, and mental health impacts of lengthy school closures; use climate surveys to inform ongoing planning and ensure learning environments are safe and supportive for students and teachers; and help school communities weave equity into their efforts to improve climate and promote resiliency in times of crisis.
