Description
Vaccines have been instrumental in the elimination of certain diseases and have saved millions of lives. However, as several measles outbreaks in recent months so vividly show us, vaccine-preventable diseases still pose a threat to our health. Current trends have shown a decline in vaccination rates, underscoring the need for the public health community to continue to educate the public that vaccines are a safe and highly effective strategy to prevent the spread of diseases.
During this webinar, representatives from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will describe the national landscape of vaccinations and the related public health impact. The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene will present on how they responded to their recent measles outbreak, highlight their continued efforts and share valuable lessons learned.
