In this learning session, we’ll hear from Ohio Environmental Council’s Annalisa Rocca and Scioto Analysis’ Rob Moore about their study on the costs and benefits of lead pipe removals in Ohio. During a meeting with state legislators regarding the replacement of lead service lines, a new question came up: “What would the cost of doing nothing be?” From there, Ohio Environmental Council teamed up with the experts at Scioto Analysis to create a cost-benefit analysis of the existing lead pipes in the state, creating an important communication tool for discussions in an oscillating political environment.
Join us for this one-hour discussion of the importance of removing lead from our drinking water systems, how this cost-benefit analysis was completed and used, and a look at the long-term goals for Ohio and other states facing this same issue.
