Description
The National Center for Farmworker Health (NCFH) is hosting a 4-part virtual training series to help health departments and health center staff understand the critical role farmworkers play in the agriculture industry. With a focus on dairy, poultry, goat, sheep, swine, and meatpacking industries, this series will provide a comprehensive overview of farmworker demographics, workplace environments, healthcare access, and their critical participation in public health surveillance activities.
Audience
Health department employees and others who are working with animal production workers at risk of H5N1.
Objectives
1. Increase understanding of the different industries agricultural workers participate in such as crops, dairy, poultry, swine, and meatpacking.
2. Build connections among health department, agricultural worker-serving organizations and health center staff.
3. Foster information and resource sharing during these events.

Thursday, February 27th, 2025 - Farmworkers in the dairy and goat/sheep industries
