The committee serves as an advisory board to the editorial staff of The Nation's Health, APHA's newspaper. The committee responds to specific charges generated through the editorial staff on issues that may include focus, editorial content, circulation, design, frequency or Web presence. An interest in newspapers or the media is encouraged. The composition of this seven-person group, which includes a student member, reflects major organizational program elements of APHA. A meeting of the committee is held at the Annual Meeting, for which expenses are not covered. Committee members communicate throughout the year via email. The term for members of this committee is two years, except for the student member, who serves a one-year term.
