Jeffrey E. Hall, PhD, MSPH, MA, serves as the Deputy Director, Office of Minority Health and Health Equity, and the Chief, Minority Health and Health Equity Activity, for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, with key involvement in substantive health matters and in health policy and program development. In this position Hall: assures consideration of the Associate Director for Minority Health and Health Equity views in all assignments and assists the Director in performing her duties; leads and directs the development and implementation of a comprehensive minority health equity program, including establishing goals and objectives, instituting CDC-wide policies, programs, and activities and ensuring integration with the Agency’s other research, surveillance, and prevention activities; and provides judgment and advice to the ADMHHE on politically sensitive issues and programs; coordinates major minority health activities; and serves as the principal minority heath liaison for CDC/ATSDR. As a senior member of OMHHE, Dr. Hall also assures that the Agency’s Office of Minority Health and Health Equity aims to accelerate CDC’s health impact in the U.S. population and to eliminate health disparities.
